American Woman Disguised in Hijab Attempts Contract Killing in Birmingham

In a shocking turn of events, UK police are searching for an American woman named Aimee Betro who allegedly flew to Birmingham to carry out a contract killing, disguising herself in a hijab.

According to reports, the 44-year-old Betro was hired by Birmingham business rivals Mohammed Aslam, 56, and his son Mohammed Nazir, 30, to assassinate local boutique owner Sikander Ali. The failed assassination attempt took place on September 7, 2019 outside a house in Acocks Green, Birmingham.

Betro, disguised in a hijab, attempted to gun down Ali but her weapon jammed. Undeterred, she later returned in a taxi and fired three shots at the property before sending threatening text messages to Ali's father Aslat Mahamud, taunting "Stop playing hide and seek" and "Where are you hiding?".

Betro then promptly fled back to the United States just two days after the incident. However, her co-conspirators Nazir and Aslam were found guilty of conspiracy to murder on Monday after a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.

This brazen contract killing plot highlights the lengths that some individuals will go to in order to eliminate their business rivals. The use of an American assassin dressed in Muslim attire also points to the disturbing trend of exploiting cultural and religious differences to carry out acts of violence.

Authorities are still searching for Betro, who remains at large. It's unclear if she will face any charges in the US for her alleged role in the failed hit.

The incident has understandably shaken the local community in Birmingham. Sickander Ali, the intended victim, runs a successful clothing boutique in the area. His family and friends have expressed shock and outrage that someone would go to such violent lengths to target his business.

This case serves as a sobering reminder of the very real threat of contract killings and the dark underbelly of the business world. It also raises concerns about the potential for such plots to exploit ethnic and religious divisions for nefarious purposes.

As the investigation continues, one can only hope that Aimee Betro will be apprehended and brought to justice for her alleged role in this terrifying assassination attempt. In the meantime, the local community in Birmingham will no doubt remain on high alert.
